Rod Smith: Goodbye to the best

John Elway will always be considered the best Bronco ever to play, and I agree, but Rod Smith is number two.  His work ethic, team first attitude, and feisty leadership did as much as anything to bring two Super Bowls to Denver.  We all knew that he wasn’t coming back after the hip surgergy, but [...]

Soccer Blog

I’ve been a soccer coach for awhile, but I needed a place to vent, discuss, and look for soccer ideas.  If you have anything you want to contribute get on over there.  Please let any soccer folks you might know about this site.  I can use all the help I can get.

So. Very. Tired.

After watching this…
SAN DIEGO — The Rockies played all night and into the next morning.
But it was worth it.
Not only did the Rockies pull out a record-setting 2-1, 22-inning victory against the Padres as Thursday night turned into Friday morning at Petco Park, but they also rediscovered the ace for their rotation.
The game ended at [...]

It’s about time these Broncos get their due

I hope Gradishar and Zimmerman get the nod for the NFL Hall of Fame…
I know it’s a great honor, and slots in the Hall of Fame are, and should be rare, but I find I’m like a lot of Bronco fans who wonder why a team that has been to six Super Bowls, winning two, [...]

Best wishes

To Nene and Tim, both of whom I’ve had the opportunity to meet.
The first thought that came to my mind was how glad I was that they got this in this age.  Twenty years ago, this diagnosis would have been far, far more grim.
Here’s to a speedy recovery you two.

Broncos v Chiefs

Boy, I’m here early. Oh well, more fun for y’all. Also I’ll be doing updates for a couple radio networks so I’ll be particularly busy. But I’ll still let everyone know the real story about what’s going on.
UPDATE: Well at the start of the game it’s sunny and cold. Glad [...]

WTF!!!!

The NL MVP?
Considering the amazing streaks for the teams whose uniforms they wore, the National League MVP race had to be this close.
There could be no other finish.
But Philadelphia shortstop Jimmy Rollins, all 5-foot-8 of him, stood taller than Colorado’s Matt Holliday and Milwaukee’s Prince Fielder, as the Baseball Writers’ Association of America announced the [...]

World Series Game 4

Well when you’re just happy to be there, it makes it hard to not be satisfied with just being there.  I think that’s what happened with the Rockies.  I hope they take this hard and come back next year with a sense of not just getting to the World Series, but winning it.
As for me, [...]

World Series Game 3

O.K., time to start panicking.

World Series Game 2

At least the Rockies stopped the Red Sox offense.  Now they gotta start getting their own offense going.
With the next three at Coors Field it’s not time to start panicking yet….maybe time to get the paper bags out to stop the possible hyperventilating…but no panicking.
