The definition of a “kill-joy”

Terrible

It may be the season for vampires, ghosts and zombies. Just remember, they’re not real, warns physicist Costas Efthimiou.  Obviously, you might say. But Efthimiou, a professor at the University of Central Florida, points to surveys that show American gullibility for the supernatural.

I lean towards the “ghosts exist” side, but I don’t have a problem with doing studies like this.  I do, however, have a problem with reporting on this kind of study leading up to Halloween .   Who stole your bag of candy as a kid?  Terrible angle on the Halloween story, guys.  What’s next? Proof Santa can’t get down chimneys?  You don’t have to believe in ghosts and ghouls, but please, don’t ruin it for everyone else.

Thank you.

So… in the spirit of the season, watching the history channel a few days ago, there was a documentary on ‘Zombies’. They are real, say all the experts referring to the religious ceremony that removes the ‘zomby’ (spirit) from an individual, practiced primarily by Voodoun of Haiti.

Why am I posting, because in the interest of discussion… what the heck is the History channel doing producing a program where one of their experts is the author of “Zombie Bukkake” – yes I rewound to make certain I had read the title correctly, and then of course I googled it to confirm that bukkake really only has ONE definition and that it applies to this book. So the esteemed History channel (don’t get me wrong, I probably spend as many hours watching the history channel as any other) is using people who write erotic stories about the undead – hmmmmm…
